Reviews for Kaiken Ramos Generales By Francis Mallmann
Review highlights
Based on 516 reviewsKaiken Ramos Generales By Francis Mallmann is widely praised for its stunning vineyard setting and immersive dining experience beneath historic vine canopies. Guests frequently highlight the restaurant’s exceptional service, noting attentive, knowledgeable, and bilingual staff. The open kitchen adds a unique touch, enhancing the atmosphere alongside the carefully curated wine selection sourced directly from the adjacent vineyard. The food is generally celebrated for its creativity and flavor, though some feedback points to limited menu options and seasonal comfort concerns during colder months. Overall, the venue is regarded as a world-class destination combining scenic beauty, culinary artistry, and a refined yet inviting ambiance.
This was the second Francis Mallmann establishment we visited during our Mendoza trip. A lot better than 7 Fuegos. You are sitting in the middle of 85 year old Vines, which support the canopy. Bidding grapes hanging down, the sun setting through the vineyard. Service is excellent, perfectly bilingual waiters, with a very good knowledge of their wines. We went for the tasting menu, with the premium wine selection. The pours are generous and they don't hesitate to top you up, if you particularly like one or the other (or all!). We asked for a slow meal and they had no problem with that. 3.5hrs for 3 courses! Fair warning: taxis are really slow to get there too... Either arrange for a set time ahead of time, or be ready to wait up to an hour!
I would find it very difficult to fault this place. The location is alluring and inviting. The design and the set up of the restaurant is a joy and being able to watch the chefs prepare the food in the outdoor kitchen is a bonus. The wines are obviously excellent because they come from next door in the vineyard and the service was attentive and friendly. It had a World-class quality to it without any snobbishness or pretensions. Not exactly a “cheap eat”, but if you want to splash out and really have great quality and excellent atmosphere, then we would recommend coming here.
One of the most beautiful places we’ve ever dined in. Our table was under the vines and the food was amazing. The service and whole atmosphere unique.
Great food, good service. We went in winter and the place is set outside, with no heating. We went on a sunny day but if not we would have been very uncomfortable. The wine was only ok. We ordered a la carta because the menu with steps had very little to choose from. I recommend the torre de milanesas!
For over 20 years, I’ve been a huge admirer of Aurelio Montes, one of the most creative winemakers of our time. So, while visiting the Mendoza region, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to tour Bodega Kaiken and enjoy the cuisine at Ramos Generales by Mallmann. We knew it would be fantastic, but it exceeded even our highest expectations. The organization was flawless, the food delicious, and the wines perfectly paired with each dish. The breathtaking view of the mountains and the meal amidst the heart of the vineyard added a magical touch. The experience was enhanced by the tranquil sound of classical music playing as we toured the wine cellars, leaving a lasting impression on us. An absolutely recommended stop for anyone visiting Argentina.
Terrific dinner at Ramos Generales! We had a large group of 17 total at two tables. The service was nice, but a little slow (reason for 4 stars). It took a long time to get drinks and also food. Delicious and worth the wait however. The roasted lamb was amazing. We had a great driver, Octavio, from our hotel to here @vyvtraslados . He also provided all transfers from airport and to our other stops over 4 days, including: restaurants, vineyards, and horseback riding.
What a spectacular place! It was so excellent that I don’t where to start. The food is better than anywhere in Luján. The extra brut is excellent! The Boulder wine is so special. Camila made the night something to remember. We keep going back because there is nowhere as amazing as Kaiken! We looooovvveee it!
Beautiful lunch atmosphere and hospitable staff. It was fun to watch the chefs grill right in front of the vineyard, and the seating was in a nice shaded area in view of the vineyards. I got the lamb and a dessert - the food was solid! The lamb was amazingly tender, it could have been a bit more interesting but it was perfectly cooked. I thought the wines were delicious - I got the Sauv Blanc and Pinot Noir via copa. I did a La carte and with the portions (huge!) it was a good deal at about $65 usd with main, dessert, 2 wines, and tip. I ended up taking half the main home because it was so big!
